This was just a prime choice for a temporary stay in Chelmsford with great value for money. The staff were really friendly and made exceptional lactose-free scrambled eggs for breakfast. Remember to check the heating before settling in for the night.

Quaint lodge-style accommodations with a cozy vibe make this place ideal for downtime after a long day. The well-equipped rooms feature a traditional feel and even provide a decent patio area for a peaceful retreat.
The housekeeping policy allows fresh linens only every four days, which may leave you wanting for that clean vibe after returning from a day out. My breakfast experience left something to be desired. pre-made toast and barely cooked sausages do not cut it, especially when photos highlight a more inviting feast. the lack of a lift to the first floor can be a hassle if you're laden with bags, and the room I had was on the smaller side compared to expectations set by the descriptions.

I enjoyed the tranquility of the grounds and the beautiful garden areas. The staff were incredibly helpful, going the extra mile to assist with any request. My room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. I particularly loved the bathroom. it had a large bath and a fantastic walk-in shower that felt fantastic in the morning. Breakfast was delicious, especially the buffet options. I did find a ladies false eyelash in the bathroom and the Sky TV did not work as I was looking forward to watching some shows. They tried to fix it but had no luck. A small discount would've been appreciated at checkout due to that inconvenience, but I left feeling satisfied overall. I'd definitely recommend Channels for a lovely stay with just a couple of minor grievances that could easily be addressed.

I loved the comfy super king bed and how modern my room was, which made for a great night’s sleep. The garden area is such a nice spot to relax, and I really enjoyed unwinding in the leisure room too. Just a heads up, the breakfast selection was pretty limited, but they did provide extra items when I asked. 😊

A couple's retreat with a twist
First, we received a jar of fresh milk for our tea, just this little touch made it feel like home. Second, the staff went above and beyond when the burglar alarm went off, they genuinely cared for our comfort and safety, showing a kind of hospitality you don’t see everyday.
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but understand that you get what you pay for.

comfortable stay but slight room for improvement
The bistro served exceptional food at reasonable prices, creating a lovely dining atmosphere. The quirky design of my room added charm, and I appreciated the mini fridge stocked with refreshments.
The room could benefit from additional soundproofing for a quieter night.
